PSX gains over 1,300 points in strong Tuesday session

The Pakistan Stock Exchange extended its positive run on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained more than 1,300 points, with buying across key sectors despite renewed uncertainty in the Middle East. The market opened strongly, rising 1,305 points, or 0.78 percent, to 167,869, and later reached an intraday high of 168,469.

By early afternoon the index was trading at 167,947, up 1,383 points, or 0.83 percent, from the previous close of 166,564. Buying was reported in automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, oil marketing companies and power generation, showing broad rather than narrow support for the advance.

The session matters because it followed a volatile Monday that still ended slightly higher, and because international oil prices had eased on renewed diplomatic efforts over the Middle East conflict. For ordinary readers, a broad market rise of this size is a signal of improved sentiment, not a promise about any single share.
