UPDATE: ICC fines Pakistan 5% of match fee for slow over-rate in tri-series final

UPDATE: The International Cricket Council has fined the Pakistan team 5% of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka.

Match referee Richie Richardson imposed the sanction after Pakistan were found to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration, the ICC said in a statement.

In accordance with the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined 5% of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
