Dry weather is set to continue across most of Pakistan on Thursday, with rain possible only in the north, according to the Meteorological Department. Most districts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan are expected to stay dry, with hot conditions during the day in Sindh and cold mornings and nights in northern Balochistan and the hills.
Partly cloudy conditions with rain and thunderstorms are likely in Chitral, Swat and adjoining areas at night, while Murree, Galiyat and nearby hill areas will stay cold in the morning and night with a chance of light rain and thunder at night. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will remain partly cloudy and cold, with rain and thunderstorms at a few places in the evening and night.
Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to stay dry with cooler mornings and nights. In the past 24 hours the lowest temperatures were minus 4 degrees Celsius in Leh and 1 degree in Ziarat and Skardu. For travellers and farmers, the message is unchanged: plan the plains without rain, but expect cold nights in the north.
