Kremlin confirms Abu Dhabi peace talks as strike kills 26 at Ukraine aid centre

Russia will hold three-way peace talks with Ukraine and the United States in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11, the Kremlin confirmed on Tuesday. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to President Vladimir Putin, will serve as Moscow’s chief negotiator, while US envoy Steve Witkoff said the talks will cover post-war security arrangements, de-escalation and humanitarian measures.

The confirmation came as Ukrainian officials reported a deadly strike on a humanitarian aid distribution centre in Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region, where at least 26 people were killed and five injured. The target was a local school where supplies were distributed weekly, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack followed a six-day temporary truce, the longest of the war.

US negotiators are also due to meet European and NATO officials in Brussels this week before the Abu Dhabi session. Officials do not expect an immediate major breakthrough, but the talks are the first US-mediated round since February and come as both sides face growing pressure before winter.
