The federal government has raised the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.29 per litre to Rs402.96, while keeping petrol unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre, for the three days from 31 October to 2 November. Geo News and Aaj English both reported the revision from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification issued on Friday.
Kerosene oil stands at Rs330.96 per litre and light diesel oil at Rs275.24 per litre under the same notification. The prices are set under the government’s new daily fuel price review mechanism, under which OGRA publishes daily prices based on a seven-day average of international market prices. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the approach follows international practice and lets changes in world prices reach consumers more quickly.
For households and transporters, the practical split is clear: petrol users see no change for these three days, while diesel users — including goods transport and agriculture — pay Rs2.29 more per litre. The next revision is due when this three-day window ends.
