Pakistan takes its investment pitch to Doha as World Investment Forum opens

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan is representing Pakistan at the ninth World Investment Forum (WIF) 2026 in Doha, running from 25 to 27 October under the theme “Investing in the Future”. The forum is organised in partnership with the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the State of Qatar, bringing together ministers, investors and sovereign wealth funds.

On the sidelines, Jam Kamal Khan met Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu, Qatar Businessmen Association chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani and Hassad Food chief executive Ali Hilal Al-Kuwari. Talks covered agriculture, minerals, energy, manufacturing and technology, and he invited Hassad Food to FoodAg 2026 in Karachi to deepen agribusiness and food security cooperation.

The forum focuses on artificial intelligence, infrastructure, energy, sustainable finance and climate resilience. For Pakistan, the visit is a chance to turn longstanding partnerships with Türkiye and Qatar into concrete trade and investment deals rather than general goodwill.
