Karachi is expected to face sharp fluctuations between daytime and nighttime temperatures over the next three days, potentially affecting human health, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned. In its three-day forecast, the Met Office’s Early Warning Centre said the considerable difference between day and night temperatures could pose health risks and urged people to remain cautious amid changing weather.
The minimum temperature in the city is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius over the next three days, while the maximum could climb to 37 degrees. Karachi recorded a maximum of 35.3 degrees on Sunday, down 1.7 degrees from the previous day, with relative humidity at 29 percent. Sea breezes, alongside north-easterly and north-westerly winds from Balochistan and Tharparkar, will continue to influence the city.
The warning matters because the transition towards winter often brings more respiratory complaints, especially when hot afternoons are followed by much cooler nights. Residents are advised to dress for the change, avoid sudden exposure to cold night air after a hot day, and take extra care of children, older people and those with existing breathing problems.
