Swabi seals around 120 schools after inspections find buildings unsafe

Authorities in Swabi have sealed around 120 schools after inspections found their buildings unsafe, officials said, as part of a safety drive across the district.

The inspections, carried out by the education department and local administration, identified cracked walls, damaged roofs and weak structures in government and private schools. Officials said classes would be shifted to safer buildings or temporary arrangements until repairs were completed.

Parents were urged to cooperate with the closures, which officials said were a precaution to protect students and staff. The district administration said a survey of all schools was under way and further action would follow the findings.
