National Bank posts Rs48.9 billion profit for nine months to September 2026

The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) posted a profit after tax of Rs48.9 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, according to its latest financial results.

The result was supported by higher mark-up income, lower provisioning and improved operating performance. The bank said deposits and advances remained stable, while asset quality improved during the period.

NBP’s profit for the third quarter alone was Rs15.4 billion, reflecting a recovery from a loss in the same quarter last year. The bank attributed the turnaround to a more favourable interest-rate environment and tighter cost controls.
