The Pakistan Stock Exchange closed Thursday with the benchmark KSE-100 index at 167,193.43, up 1,456.68 points (+0.88%) from Wednesday’s close of 165,736.75. The index reached an intraday high of 167,483.48 and held its gains into the close, ending firmly positive.
The close extends the recovery that had already run for three straight sessions into Wednesday, with buyers continuing to back company earnings despite the State Bank’s policy rate rise to 12 percent. This made Thursday the fourth straight positive session.
For ordinary readers, single-day moves should not be read as a buy or sell signal, and what matters is whether earnings-led buying holds over coming sessions.
